Don’t get me wrong, I love my kids but they are seriously nuts. Are you sure this kind of session will work for us?
Haha, yes! I have 4 of my own so I totally get it. Not getting my kids to be able to sit and stay for photos was one of the reasons I embraced this style of photography in the first place. You just get everyone to the location and I will wrangle them from there— and snacks are never a bad idea!
We are traveling to Denver for this session, where is the best area to stay to minimize travel time to the session location?
The mountains run along the west side of Denver and typical session locations are about 20-30 mins into the mountains. Golden, Denver, and even a small mountain town like Georgetown are all great options for minimizing your travel time on the day of your shoot.
What happens if the weather turns bad?
Well, since Colorado equals notoriously unpredictable weather, I’ll be watching the forecast just as much as you as the day gets closer and we’ll be in contact about things if it looks iffy. A bad weather forecast doesn’t necessarily mean we will reschedule the session; some of the most amazing photos I’ve captured for families have come on the tail end of a storm or higher than normal winds. All of that to say that weather is something I deal with in every session so I’m always prepared with a backup plan. If you’re traveling in from out of town I do recommend not to leave your photo session until the last day for this very reason! Probably 1 in 4 of my family sessions have been rescheduled to the next day due to weather. There’s no contending with Mother Nature!
I am in total mom mode and the only thing holding me back from booking is that I’m worried about how I’ll look/what I’ll wear. Any ideas?
Oh mama, I feel you. A main part of what I do with you before your shoot is this very thing; getting your outfit just right. While I am by no means a fashionista myself, I do have a good resource list for places to find inexpensive but gorgeous options, including my Client Closet (which is just what it sounds like, a collection of items available to you for your shoot if you so choose!). I also provide free access to StyleandSelect.com, a personalized client wardrobe consultation. Bottom line: I got you covered and can assure you finding a great outfit will happen easier than you think.
But the kids and hubby…so many outfits!
Haha right? I’m happy to walk you through each family member’s outfit so you arrive at your session excited to relax & play. A great place to start is perusing the blog to see what other families have done— no shame in stealing ideas!
